Emotional eating
Emotional eating is common in people with lipedema and is nothing to be ashamed of. It's an understandable reaction to chronic pain, frustration with your body, insecurity, or years of struggling with weight loss without results. Many women with lipedema have tried countless diets, often without success, because lipedema fat isn't easily affected by eating less or exercising more. This can lead to feelings of failure, powerlessness, and stress, which further influence eating behavior.
Eating then becomes a way to regulate emotions, find comfort or seek distraction.
During my coaching, there's space to lovingly explore this pattern, without judgment. We'll look at the underlying emotions and habits, so you learn to recognize what your true needs are—is it peace, recognition, connection, or perhaps self-care?
You'll be given tools to make conscious choices, with gentleness towards yourself and without strict rules. The goal isn't perfection, but restoring your relationship with food and your own body. Because only when you learn to listen to what your body and heart truly need can you take lasting steps toward greater balance, confidence, and well-being.
